Art! Masters 2018

8 ARTISTS / 1 VENUE / 1 THEME / 1 HOUR / 1 SURPRISE BOX OF SUPPLIES

"Float like a Butterfly, Sting like a Bee."

Art! Masters' first event was a huge success. Attendees of all ages watched as artists raced to translate their ideas to canvas within their one-hour time limit. It was a truly enjoyable event for the young and old. What is Art! Masters? Art! Masters is a new painting contest for professional artists. This July from 7-10 pm it was held at The Portside Pub in Gastown, Vancouver, BC. There were 8 artists, who had to create a painting to the theme of Muhammad Ali's famous quote: "Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee." The theme was known by artists in advance, however the supplies they were given were not. Artists were given a surprise box of materials to paint with (including everything but brushes) fifteen minutes before the contest began. After the hour was up, each member of the audience was given a voting ticket which they used to vote for whichever artist's piece they loved most. After the tickets were counted, a first, second, and third place winner was revealed. All received prizes! The fantastic Doctor Strange, Steven Kaplin, emceed for the night, providing an exciting ambiance.
